Dear Oil Painting Enthusiasts!!
I am excited to announce plans to offer a variety of classes
throughout Northern Michigan this year. Below is a list of tentative
classes and times I will have available during the next six months
through the Personal Touch in the Soo, "Arnies" of Houghton Lake, the
Detour Art Center, Drummond Island, and classes in my home.
Basic Beginner's Sketching - This 3 hour class includes materials;
pencils, sharpener, eraser,blending stump and sketch pad. All yours to
keep. We will address hand positions for sketching, tonal chart, line
drawing, how to create textures, shapes, shading, one point
perspective, and simple composition.
Class fee $ 30.00
fall 2009 class schedule TBA
NEW CLASS !! Drawing in Perspective - We will concentrate on one,two
and three point perspective with many class excercises to improve your
knowledge of the subject. Class fee $30.00 Add $10 if you need
supplies.

NEW CLASS!! Portrait Sketching - We will explore the basic bone and
muscle structure of the human head, with use of pencil, and vine
charcoal.
winter 2010 class schedule TBA
Pre-Beginner's Art class- This is a one day seminar includes use of
pencil, sharpener, eraser, paper, brushes, canvas paper, paints, and
instructions starting with simple drawing, shading, perspective,
composition, and several small painted vignettes! Class fee which
includes all materials is $50.00.

Northern Michigan Scenes in Oils - This Oil painting class is for
everyone, young and old, beginner or advanced. We will be exploring
our beautiful surroundings while painting waterfalls, streams, cabins,
and sunrises.
June 16th 10 - 5 pm @ Jeannie Schmeltzer's house on Drummond Island,
Mi fee $60 includes all materials
July 20th, 21st, 22nd 10 am - 5 pm @ Arnies of Houghton Lake, Mi fee
$100.00
Wildlife in Oils - Let's continue to develop our skills as an artist
with more advanced compositions such as Northern Michigan wildlife !!
Step by step instructions and photos are provided as I paint right
along with you. We will attempt a bear up in a tree, and a moose with
emphasis on placement in their surroundings.
June 18th,19th,20th 10 am - 5 pm @ Arnies of Houghton Lake fee $

Plein air painting in Oils - Enjoy a day or three painting beautiful
scenes outdoors with Jeanne.
July 14th on Drummond Island fee $60 all materials included
